CPD records - advance notification
We are working on a website which will offer subscribers an improved and more integrated service.
This will not be for a few months yet, and we will let you know more well in advance of it happening.
In the meantime, if you have used the CPD recording system to record anything other than attending a CPD Foundation seminar, please take the time to download this data and use an alternative way to record this information – e.g. the RICS CPD App.

How can I subscribe / renew my membership to the CPD Foundation?

How much does it cost to subscribe to the CPD Foundation?
An individual 12 month subscription to the CPD Foundation costs £185 + VAT.
Discounts are available when multiple subscriptions are purchased at the same time or for companies looking to make the CPD Foundation available to staff.

What do I get for my subscription fee?
• All seminars around the UK listed on this site which occur during your subscription period
• 'On Demand' content - recordings of a selection of seminars
• Copies of seminar presentations from the events' pages
• Online personal activity record.
Is this Formal CPD?
Yes, all of the seminars and On Demand content qualify as one hour of formal CPD for RICS purposes.
Note that you will need to update your CPD Record at rics.org with your CPD Foundation activity as the websites are not linked. Anything you attend or mark as watched will appear in your activity record on this site, which you can then use as a guide for completing your RICS log.
How long will my subscription last?
The subscription is on rolling year basis – for example if you join on 2 February you will have access until the following 1 February. You can see when your current subscription ends in the Membership area.
Is the membership fee payable in one go?
Yes, the fee is paid in one go at the start of your subscription and we need to receive your payment before access to the website is granted.
What happens once I have subscribed?
On paying for your subscription via RICS, we will send you an email inviting you to create a password and complete your profile at www.cpdfoundation.com
You will then be able to:
• Add colleagues to membership, if you’ve created a Multiple Subscription
• Book seminars
• View On Demand content
• Access presentation handouts
• Review your personal activity record
I can’t remember my password. What should I do?
This website currently has separate sign in arrangements from rics.org.
You can reset your password by using this link. Be careful to use the email address that is registered on this site as it won’t warn you if the email address is incorrect.
You may have used the ‘Sign In with LinkedIn, Facebook or Google’ feature, to create your profile, so try and sign in with those routes if you continue to have trouble.

How do I book to attend seminars?
Make sure you are signed in and then visit the directory page. Once you've found the right seminar page, you'll see the option to 'Book Seminar'.
How far in advance are seminars published?
Seminars are published with at least three months notice, three times a year.
What if I find that I am no longer able to attend a seminar?
You should cancel your place by signing in and going to the relevant seminar page. There is a ‘cancel’ button on the events page and no penalty for releasing your place. Please see your event confirmation or reminder email to find the link to your event.
Cancelling your place means that we have a better idea of how many people to expect and that your place is available for someone else.
Will I get notifications when new seminars are added to the website?
You will be notified via regular newsletters.
If you have opted out of certain communcations from RICS, then you will not receive the CPD Foundations newsletters.
If you are not receiving CPD Foundation newsletters, please:
- Visit your profile page and check your preferences on the 'emails' tab to see whether you opted in to receive them when you created your profile.
- If you are set to receive newsletters, then please contact RICS to check or update your overall contact preferences.
You can also follow us @cpdfoundation to be the first to hear about new seminars.
How can I access the On Demand content?
Simply sign in and visit the On Demand page. You’ll be able to view any of the listed topics, make notes as you watch and save these to your personal activity record.
Are handouts available prior to a seminar?
In most cases the presentation is uploaded to the seminar's page on the website a few hours before the seminar. Look out for 'Download Notes' on the left of the page.
Where can I manage my privacy settings?
You can manage your visibility within the website and also in external searches in your ‘Privacy’ area. You’ll see this when you go to your Profile
